somedays i find myself just sick of it.
my finances are better off than they were a year ago and for that i am thankful. the post-college struggle with budgets and credit and bills sounds nearly universal (—but that is probably an overstatement made by a lazy writer.)
i've been actively working on my finances for the past six months.
i will confess that almost any of my success is due to a shifting of my perspective. once i decided to split my mortgage payment to coincide with my pay schedule, everything made a lot more sense. from there i split up my monthly bills into similar chunks and i have a pretty decent bi-monthly schedule. i even threw a modest amount at my savings account.
at the moment i think the sum of the advice i have to offer is:
- find a way to see your finances in a manner that suits your style of thinking or your monthly income schedule.
- if you are even moderately overwhelmed by credit card debt, take a look at www.careonecredit.com.
- find someone to work on fiscal responsibility with, there are a lot of us in this situation.
- do everything possible to pay your bills on-time and avoid places like MoneyTree et. al.
- having your finances in good shape will do wonders for your self-esteem.
